THINGS I LIKED ABOUT CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY:
* Johnny Depp (MUMBLER!!)
* Freddy Highmore as Charlie (300 times better than that girl-y looking Peter Ostrum from Willy Wonka)
* The music
* The oompa loompas (Deep Roy is hilarious)
* All the children
* The set design
* How much truer to the book it was

THINGS I DIDN'T REALLY LIKE ABOUT CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY:
* The flashbacks (I really found them unnecessary and distracting)
* The narrator's accent (it distracted me)
* Christopher Lee ( I LOVE him, but I felt he was wasted here)
* Helena Bonam Carter's teeth (Seriously, WTF?!)
* The over-emphasis on "family"
* How neither Johnny Depp or Gene Wilder got Willy Wonka right... at least in my opinion. Both were EXCELLENT, and I love both movies, but neither seem quite like the Willy Wonka from the book.

Overall, excellent movie. Tim Burton + Johnny Depp = KICK ASS FILM. Guaranteed. It's when you start adding Marky Mark and monkey planets into the mix that Tim Burton starts losing his golden touch.
